Artist, author and motivational speaker Charlotte Hackin recently visited Siena on Brendenwood to speak with residents on how they can maintain an active, fulfilling lifestyle at any age.
Hackin led the discussion based on passages from her book, “Stay Young To 100.” The renowned motivational speaker shared advice on topics such as healthy eating, daily exercise and positive thinking to encourage seniors in their physical and mental health.
“Charlotte truly embodies the type of positive lifestyle that she has shared with us today,” said Siena Executive Director Karen Carlson. “Her experiences and her outlook on life are an inspiration for anyone of any age.”
Born in Chicago, Hackin followed her life’s passion in art and has embraced a diverse career as a TV host, art instructor, author, life coach and public speaker. She currently resides in Rockford and served as the Park District Commissioner from 2001-2007, beginning at the age of 81.
Several of Hackin’s paintings are on display at the Rockford Art Museum as well as The Chicago Art Institute, Art in Embassies (Washington, D.C.), La Petite Gallery (Phoenix, AZ) and other galleries across the country.
