    The most wonderful time of the year is here! That means it’s time to make some delicious treats to share with loved ones. We are so excited to share some of our favorite Siena sweets from our staff and community members. First up, our favorite gingersnap cookies. Served best with a tall glass of milk and a holiday movie. Enjoy!

    Siena’s Gingersnap Cookies                        Yield 4 dozen

    • ¾ cup shortening

    • 1 cup sugar

    • ¼ cup molasses

    • 1 egg

    ~Cream ingredients together in medium size mixing bowl.

    • 2 tsp. baking soda

    • 2 cups flour

    • ½ tsp cloves

    • 2 tsp. ground ginger

    • 2 tsp. cinnamon

    • ¼ tsp. salt

    ~ Sift together dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture.

    Roll Dough into small balls; Roll dough balls in granulated sugar.

    Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes in 350* oven.

    Cool slightly before removing onto cooling racks.
