Siena Spotlight - Rudy and Joan Wirth

Rudolph (Rudy) Wirth was born in December of 1935 in Kenosha, WI to Rudolph and Sophia Wirth. He has a brother, Tom and a sister, Elizabeth.  Rudy grew up in and graduated from Kenosha High School in 1953.  He served in the U.S. Army and earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin in 1959.  Joan Parisea was born in Kenosha, WI in May of 1937 to Walter and Clair Parisea and has 5 siblings, Kay, John, Yvonne, Michelle and Mary Jo and she is a 1955 graduate of Kenosha High School.  They were united in marriage in 1959 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Kenosha Wi. and have a son Patrick and a daughter Penny and 2 grandsons, Sam and Chase. Rudy worked for Sundstrand, Barber Coleman and Borg Warner in Engineering and Sales and Joan worked in Banking and Retail Sales.

Rudy had been bringing in his wife, Joan, for some time to play cards with a friend that lived at Siena on Brendenwood. Sometimes he would stay and play cards as well. Upon the invitation to our Siena on Brendenwood 30th Anniversary celebration in late September 2024, they decided to join and learn more about the lifestyles offered. Rudy and Joan visited a few other communities, learning and comparing details of each. They also did a cost comparison of their current expenses against those incurred at Siena.  They noted the similarities, but also realized that the peace of mind in knowing that people are available at Siena 24/7 in case of any emergency is priceless.

They desired additional services such as meals and housekeeping.  They, also being social people, wanted to be in the building for access to activities and visiting with friends.  Once they had made up their mind to join Siena, they invited their children to learn more about Siena. Rudy and Joan discussed with them all the positive things about the move, and their children understood what led to this positive decision.

When asked what it was about Siena that caught their attention, they had a list of   positive things to share, such as, they enjoy meeting a lot of new friends, trying new experiences.  They have been impressed with the cleanliness and modern, updated and well-lit environment. They noted what a great convenience the underground parking garage is and appreciate the maintenance work order system.

When asked what they would tell others who are thinking about making the move, they agreed that they would encourage others to make the decision on their own prior to having any major issues that may involve needing the assistance of others in the decision-making process.
