Make the Decision Together

Why Wait Couples?

If you are blessed enough to have become an aging partner, you and your spouse may have had to make many complex decisions and transitions together. If you think back on those situations, they were likely about family, employment, finances, and housing.

At Siena on Brendenwood, we realize a transition into one of our duplexes or apartment lifestyles is another one of those complex life decisions. When couples visit Siena for a tour, often we hear phrases such as, “We are just looking ahead, for a time when only one of us remains” or “We plan to move when we can no longer care of ourselves or our home.”

If the folks who made comments like that took a moment to talk to some of our current community members, they would hear phrases such as, “Don’t wait too long.” Or “Make this move while you can enjoy this lifestyle together.”

We hear many on-point stories from the couples we have here at Siena on Brendenwood of life both before and after Siena on Brendenwood. They share with us that after the transition to Siena, they found they have more time for picking up old interests or developing new ones, they could connect easier with friends and family, or how their finances (bill paying) have been simplified. Another valid point our community members share is that waiting too long can impair one’s health. They would suggest that coming to Siena with failing health is not the time to make the move, because you will not be able to engulf yourself in all the amenities this community offers.  However, it is good to know that should you have a need for some assistance once you have transitioned to Siena, we have a Preferred Provider Partnership with the Visiting Angels of Rockford. (www.visitingangels.com/rockford)

When you take advantage of the amenities available in senior community living, you may find that you feel differently because of steady exercise programming, healthier eating habits, social programming and the support needed for your overall well-being.

Although our very skilled leadership team has over 100 years of combined experience and knowledge in senior living and with the aging population, we don’t want you to take our word for it.  Come tour and talk with our current community members.  Take solid advice from those, like you, who were once apprehensive, or who made excuses why they wanted to put off making the transition. The common phrase we hear in this regard is “I wish we had made the move to Siena sooner!”
